I’m more of a Mets fan but I also root for the Yankees at times and personally I’m happy the Twins didn’t accept the Hughes, Cabrera, Marquez and another minor leaguer for Santana. The Yankees already have enough starting pitching assuming two of their three young guns develop as expected. The Yanks should forget starting pitching and go after relievers and leave the starters out there for the Mets.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It took Cashman 2 yrs to buid up our farm system,,And DAMN
It must be one hell of a system!! EVERYONE,Wants our farm.We signed, some of the best pitchers,a catcher from the
dominican republic who’s supposed to be better then PUDGE! We can’t give these guys.I want our team to do things the old way,,the 90’s way.We can do this with out Santana!

ok…the idea is to get him without mortgaging the whole future of the team….i also understand it will take a lot to get this guy, but giving up 2 great young pitchers and melky is a bit much.

Not at all. Hughes may end up being better than Santana in the long run. Or who’s to say that the Yankees or Red Sox trade a bunch of guys to get him and he gets hurt?

pitching is their problem and johan is a short-term solution but giving the farm system up for now could be a gamble i would probably make the deal for santana if it gets me out of the second round of the playoffs
