Here is short and good explanation, when you bet online the money are kept into account at the online bookmaker. You use the site to bet. You have the choice to stake normaly in the range of 1-10 000 depending on the site, some sites doesn’t have limits. If you win they credit your account with the winnings, if you lose they take the staked ammount.
I prefer to use decimal odds because they are simplier than the american ones. For example if you bet 10$ on odds of 2.40 all you need to calculate the winnings is multiply 10×2.40=24
Infact the bookmakers have a lot of help pages so you will be fine with it.
As for the best online bookmakers check GamblingSafe.net here http://www.gamblingsafe.net/online-bookm?
for reviews of the best bookmakers.
    Good luck.

Registering with a bookmaker is relatively pain-free, they want to make it as quick and easy as as possible so as to get you on and betting. Depending on the bookmaker deposit methods can differ, for example Boylesports allow you to deposit in their shops, but most have fairly similar methods. They allow you to deposit from credit or debit cards, or through third-parties such as Neteller. Unless there’s been a problem with your bet your winnings should be added to your account pretty quickly, usually within 15 minutes, and can be taken out by you pretty quickly as well.

Online betting is simply explain as betting on the occurrence of an event; if the given event occurs the bettor wins, if not he loses the wager. Internet betting is a famous past-time all over the world; in fact it is deeply rooted in the culture of almost all civilizations. When discussing online betting, its vital to recognize that online betting has a respectable reputation in Europe and consequently online betting is not under persecution whereas in the US, at best the country?s stance on online sports betting can be termed ambiguous.

There are a number of different deposit methods and withdrawal methods for online gamblers. You can deposit with a credit card if your card allows it. You can do echecks/bank transfers and can withdraw via that method, or withdraw to checks by mail. There are other third party companies called „ewallets” that some sites use, as well. You can find common withdrawal tips at http://dagus-statistics.com/funding
It is also important to use a reliable site when you decide to deposit your money. It will help you make an informed decision on where you play with your hard earned money! Hope this helps.
